curing a bit of diaper rash

Diaper rash is uncomfortable for baby and hard for parents. When your baby is suffering, all you want to do is find a solution - and fast! When it comes to rashes, especially the more severe kind, it can be really hard to find answers. Any severe rash can be caused by yeast or bacteria, so check with your pediatrician about any severe or persistent rash.

Here are some common reasons for diaper rash:

* Wet skin abrades more easily, so any wet diaper can lead to that familiar redness and discomfort for baby. Keep babies skin clean and dry to heal this and help prevent it from recurring. Wash baby's bottom with mild soap and plenty of warm water. If possible, wash them at every diaper change, even with plain water. Then, gently pat them dry. Dry skin is healthy skin.

* Change dirty diapers fast. Food allergies, teething and tummy issues can all lead to burns on the skin. Changing fast and cleaning the skin gently but thoroughly can make all the difference.

* Apply a thin layer of a natural cream to help keep skin clean and dry.

* Pay attention to any new foods or common foods that might be triggering the problem. Citrus, dairy and wheat are common allergens. Sometimes eliminating a food from the diet can resolve it. Check with your child's doctor if you suspect an allergy.

* Consider changing diapers for real! Some infants and toddlers have a bad reaction to chemicals and dyes. Try another brand or consider cloth diapers. Many parents report that their babies have healthier skin with cloth.
